The Model B456 10 lb ABC Fire Extinguisher is a versatile fire safety solution designed to control a wide range of fire hazards including ordinary combustibles, flammable liquids, and electrical equipment. It contains a specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate dry chemical that effectively interrupts the fire’s chemical reaction while also smothering flames.
This extinguisher works by forming a protective coating over burning materials. For Class A fires such as wood, paper, and textiles, the chemical melts at approximately 350°F and creates an insulating layer that helps prevent reignition. For Class B fires involving flammable liquids, it smothers the fire and breaks the combustion chain reaction. Additionally, the non conductive properties of the chemical make it safe for use on energized electrical equipment in Class C fire situations.
With a 10 pound capacity, the extinguisher provides approximately 20 seconds of discharge time and an effective discharge range of 15-21 feet, allowing the user to tackle fires from a safe distance. The UL and ULC rating of 4A:80B:C indicates strong firefighting capability across multiple fire classes, making it suitable for commercial buildings, industrial facilities, warehouses, offices, and residential environments.
